

Dolores “Dode” May Hennessy Snyder was born May 9, 1932, in Des Lacs, North Dakota to Thomas Mathias and Eileen Lydia Phillips Hennessy. She passed away peacefully, with the grace and dignity that distinguished her life on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at St. Peters Hospital in Olympia, Washington.
Dode was raised in Berthold, North Dakota. She married Gene Alden Snyder on September 15, 1948, in Minot, North Dakota, they were married for 64 years. Into their life and home came 4 children. Her life’s ambition was to be the best wife, mother and homemaker she could be, family always came first. Her wonderful smile and kind spirit filled every room with light and love. She loved to crochet, bowl, play cards, garden and spend time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Gene, her children, Dana Fadden (Mike), Dennis Snyder, Jill Ellison (Rob), Robin Hardy (Keith); grandchildren, Chris (Joanie) Fadden, David (Colleen) Fadden, Zachary, Bailey and Shane Snyder, Kristen (Landen) Tutt, Kyle (Alexa) Ellison, Allie (Michael) Earl, and Brook Ellison, Keith and Zachary Hardy; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Teagan, and Makenna Fadden, Sophie, Piper and Wren Tutt and Eleanor Earl.
She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Eileen Hennessy.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, April 20, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at Mills and Mills Funeral Home, 5725 Littlerock Road SW, Tumwater, WA 98512.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to cancer research.
