

Donald Clement Cedell passed away peacefully on May 29, 2017 in Lacey, Washington, Donald was born on January 21, 1932 to Clement Alfred Leroy Cedell and Leona Elvira Anderson in North Branch, Minnesota. Donald had one younger brother Robert and two younger sisters Betty and Jane.
After the passing of his father in 1943, Donald's mother moved the family to Montesano, Washington where Donald attended high school. At the age of 17, Donald quit school to go to work at Safeway to help support his mother and siblings
In 1952, Donald was drafted into the Army. He served at Camp McGill in Japan serving with the 55S Truck Company, DUK Platoon attached to the 2nd Marine Gunnery Battalion. He was sent to Korea in 1953, then back to Japan in 1954, then finally back to the states in 1955.
Upon his return to the states, he married Marian Darrin, together they had five children. Donald and Marian ended their marriage after 22 years. Donald then married Zella Lords in 1978 and remained married until Zella's passing in May of 2014.
Donald was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and attended Lacey 1st ward for over 20 years. Donald served as a High Priest in the church and he and Zella served a one year service mission in Lacey as apartment coordinators for the full time missionaries.
Donald and Zella were sealed in the Seattle temple on April 11, 2001.
Donald is survived by his five children, Donald C. Cedell Jr., Julie May Tyler, David Blaine Cedell, Danny Duane Cedell, Joy Ellen Trapp, three step daughters, Sherry Shell, Alene Fair and Michele Applewhite. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren

Services will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at the L.D.S. Stake Center at 1602 Ruddle Road S.E. Lacey, Washington.
Graveside services will be held on June 2, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Olympic Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 5725 Littlerock Road S.W. Tumwater, Washington
