

Surrounded by family in Pacific Palisades, California, our beloved father, Donald David Spence Sr., passed peacefully to heaven on December 27, 2016 at the age of 91.
Born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to Thomas and Nellie Spence, Don was one of nine children, that grew up in western Pennsylvania where he met the love of his life, Renetta Mae Hayes. They married on June 21, 1944 and started their family, while he was serving in the United States Marine Corps during WWII from 1942 to 1945.
Don lived in Clifton Park, New York for 28 years prior to retiring from Sears Roebuck where he was in management for over 30 years. Upon retirement, he moved to Lacey, Washington in 1991 to be closer to his grandkids and moved again to Mesquite, Nevada in 1996 for health reasons.
Remembered for his many years of charitable giving as Santa to thousands of families in need, his jolly laugh and love of life will live on in our hearts.
He is survived by his three children Donald Spence Jr., Ronald Spence and Kimberly Spence Dickey as well as five precious grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Renetta and his son Raymond (twin to Ronald).
A celebration of Don's life will be held, Monday, January 9th at 12 p.m. at Mills and Mills Funeral Home in Tumwater, Washington where he will rest in peace beside his high school sweetheart, Renetta. http://memorialwebsites.legacy.com/DonSpence.
