Duane H Springer

Duane Harold Springer Duane was born Aug 30, 1938 in Olympia to Harold and Wilma (Green) Springer. He passed away at St. Peter Hospital Wednesday, Sept 12, 2012 surrounded by family. Duane attended McKinley Elementary, Washington Middle School and Olympia High School. In 1956 he married Carole McMurry, and they had four children. They later divorced and he married Laura McGrath Raab in 1976. Duane was a plumber for many years and owned Olympia Plumbing and Heating. Later he owned S L Motors and DKS Storage. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, was an avid reader, liked family history and visiting friends. When two of his grand-daughters began Moto-cross racing, watching them became his favorite thing to do. Duane is survived by his wife Laura, brothers Steve (Gwen) & Ernie, sisters Joy (Don) Loffler & Susan Chamberland, sons Ron (Diane) and Andy (Linda), daughter Terri Hepp, step-daughter Lori Raab (Andy) Kahn and grandchildren Crystal (Jacob) Warren, Kara Springer & Courtney Springer (the racers), Jessika (Blaine) Everson, Jamie (Kevin) Reynolds, Jodi (Jacob) Brinkmeyer, Jaraih (Martin) Oberg, John (Lauren) Irwin, Jestina Tracy & Jason Tracy, step-grandchildren Ashley (AJ) Troche, Andrew Kahn & Aubrey Kahn. Also numerous nieces and nephews and four great grandchildren, with two more on the way. Duane is preceded in death by his infant son Timothy. A service for Duane will be Tuesday, Sept 18, 2012 at 11:00 at Mills & Mills Funeral Home on Littlerock Rd, Tumwater. A reception/potluck is scheduled to follow the srevice. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society .
