Edwin James Blake passed away peacefully on August 20, 2014. He was born on February 7, 1925 in Stockville, Nebraska to Oscar Leroy "Roy" Blake and Clara (Kendrick) Blake. Edwin came to Olympia in 1939 from Idaho and after graduation for high school, served in the US Navy Air Corp. He then married the forever love of his life Bernice (Dubuque) on December 13, 1946 and shared 56 years together until unfortunately she passed away on September 8, 2003.
Edwin worked for the State Printer until retirement in 1979. He enjoyed family and friends, hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking and painting.
Edwin is survived by sisters Fern Morhous in Yakima and Twila Lenhart in Olympia; sons Robin and Tim (Devra) in Olympia; 5 grandchildren Chris (Shannon), Becky, Ben (Jen), Adam and Dough; and 4 great-grandchildren.
A potluck Celebration of Life will take place at Sunwood Lakes Club House (8005-1 Thru Lake Circle SE, Olympia 98513) on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at noon.
