

Eleonore Price Eleonore Price of Olympia, Washington went to heaven on September 5th, 2011. Mom was born in Munich Germany in 1929 to Karl Utting and Theresa Holzmanstetter. In her youth, she endured the German Depression of the 1920s and the oppression of the Nazis. During World War II she helped provide for her family and rode her bike many miles in search of food. Despite the hardships, Mom remained positive and determined to have a better life. After the war, she met her husband of 51 years, Delmar. They built their life together and raised three children, Lilian, Delmar, and John. She was a very hardworking parent and made sure her kids had what they needed. She was very proud of them and placed great emphasis on their education, making sure they advanced through college, earning various degrees. Mom earned a master's degree from Seattle University while working full time for the State of Washington. Mom retired as a program manager after 46 years. While working on the Senate Energy Committee, Mom raised major concerns regarding the funding and safety of the Satsop Nuclear Power Plant. She was thankful when the project stopped. Environmental causes were important to Mom, and she was a leader in establishing the Nisqually Delta as a wildlife refuge. Mom also loved the arts and was involved in the creation of the Washington Center of the Performing Arts in Olympia. She has five grandchildren; John, Christopher, Alberto, Megan, and Rachel, all of whom she adored. She is also survived by her sister Thea and nephew Christian of Nussdorf, Germany. Mom was active in the Catholic Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister, and an Oblate of the Order of St. Benedict. She supported the Respect for Life Ministry, Legion of Mary, Altar Society, and was the Southern Deanery President of Seattle ACCW. A funeral mass will be held at St. Michaels Church on October 5th at noon to celebrate Eleonore's life followed with a reception. Please send donations to the American Cancer Society .
