

Elmer Robert (Bob) Fristoe was born on January 1, 1924 in Yelm, Washington and was the son of Elmer and Daisy Brown Fristoe and the brother of Charlotte and Dorothy. He grew up in the house attached to the office of the local newspaper "The Nisqually Valley News" where his father was editor.
He attended Yelm High School and later the University of Washington where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity, the crew team and NROTC. There he met Jane Kopriva, his future wife. He was called to active Navy duty in the South Pacific during WWII.
After coming home from the South Pacific, he married Jane on June 21, 1946 and began law school at the university of Washington. In 1949 they moved to Olympia, Washington where he joined the law firm of Brodie, Brodie and Fristoe.
Bob and Jan were married for 61 years before she passed away in 2007. They had three children Lynn Ross (Bert), Jeanine Kneeland (Peter), and Bradley Fristoe (Debbie). He also had 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He later became senior partner of Fristoe, Taylor and Schultz. Bob practiced law for 64 years and retired from Owens, Davies, Fristoe, Taylor and Schultz in 2012. He received the award of Thurston County Bar Association attorney of the year in 2003.
Bob and Jane traveled may parts of the world including Alaska, Australia, China, Africa and Europe. He also traveled with his two daughters and their spouses to South America and the Mediterranean.
He and Jane enjoyed spending time with his sisters and their spouses at his Lake St. Claire cabin and in Palm Springs.
He was a member of Elks, Kiwanis, and Rotary organizations and the Olympia Country and Gold Club where he loved to golf. He was also a great supporter of the University of Washington and Washington Husky sports.
