

Gisele Marie-Therese (Gandoy) Simon, 81, went to her Heavenly home on Thursday, November 29, 2012, surrounded by her devoted family. She is survived by her husband of 51 years,Frank Simon, her son Jean-Pierre (Kerri) Simon of Olympia, her daughters Sabine Riggins of Olympia and Deputy Chief of Police Florence Simon of Bellingham; her grandchildren Brittini Cleeves, Alisha Milano, Calvin Cleeves, Franklin Riggins, Airyl Simon, Skylyr Simon, Andriece Riggins and Starlynn Simon all of Olympia; her great grandchildren Angelina Odenbrett-Cleeves of Montana and Lillie Brown-Riggins of Tumwater. Gisele also leaves numerous aunts, uncles and a host of cousins in France. Gisele was born and raised in Chalons Sur Marne, France in 1931, and was a World War II survivor. Frank and Gisele married in 1961 in Robert Espagne, France, where Frank was stationed with the Army. They moved many times through the years and finally moved to their final duty station in 1977 and have resided in the Olympia/Lacey area since. Gisele retired after many years as an Auditor for The Department of Labor and Industries and remained very close with many of her co-workers. Gisele loved baking, cooking, gardening, entertaining and taking care of others. She loved visiting with her neighbors and the many friends she had made through the years. She was a long standing member of New Life Baptist Church and very active in the Women's Ministry. Above all, as everyone who knew her can testify, she lived life full on. Viewing will be from 10:00-11:00am followed by a service on Saturday, December 8, 2012, at New Life Baptist Church 7838 Pacific Ave. Lacey, WA. Graveside services will be held following the service at Mills & Mills Memorial Park 5725 Littlerock Rd. SW. Tumwater WA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Parkinson's Disease Association.
