Gregory Joseph Williams, born on December 28, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully in his sleep of natural causes at his home in Olympia, Washington, on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. He was raised in Palm Desert, California, where he lived since 1962.
Greg had a deep love for hotrods, pastrami sandwiches, and the quirky tradition of dipping french fries into milkshakes—something he proudly passed down to every generation of his family.
Above all else, Greg was, a devoted family man. He loved his wife, children, and grandchildren with his whole heart unconditionally. He was also a caring brother and uncle, and a loyal friend. His strong Catholic faith guided him throughout his life.
There was never a moment Greg didn’t want to spend with the love of his life, his wife of 47 years, Kelli (Shambley) Williams. His unwavering presence, enduring devotion, and the depth of his love remain among his greatest legacies. Together, Greg and Kelli built a beautiful life full of laughter, adventure, and family.
Greg is survived by his beloved wife, Kelli; their three children: Gina Young (née Williams/Shambley), Robert (Ashley) Williams, and Christian Williams; and his treasured grandchildren: Riley and Ronan Young, Annabella, Henry, and River Williams. He is also survived by his sisters, Susan and Donna Williams; his nephew, Ryan Williams; grand-nieces Brittany and Kylie Williams; and grand-nephews Timothy and Vladimir Stange.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Williams (2017); his mother, Alice Williams (née Regnier) (2010); and his nephew, Jason Williams (2019).
Greg will be cremated. Details regarding his burial will be shared with family and friends at a later date.
