Jay Richard Janny
29 julio , 1930 – 23 noviembre , 2021
Jay Richard Janny passed into life everlasting to be with our loving Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. Jay is remembered in our hearts for his faith, commitment to his family, especially his loving devotion to Alice of 68 years, the joy he brought to others in his engaging conversation, his love of country, and his example of how to live a Christian life of fulfillment. He was a true gentleman.
Jay was born in New York on July 29, 1930 and was the only child of Thelma and Edgar Janny. He had a happy life growing up in New York. He was quickly advanced in school and entered his college years at an early age when attending Clarkson College. His business life took him from Chemical Engineer, to the Air Force, to a career in the paper industry that included New York City and Montreal, Canada. Jay was a world traveler for work, pleasure, and religious pilgrimages. He was always so glad to return home to his family. Jay met and fell in love with Alice while he was a young lieutenant flying in the first jet fighter planes in Madison, Wisconsin. Family was all important. Jay was a supportive father to Steve, Tim, Laura, Beth, and their spouses. Jay so loved his 8 grandchildren: David, Steve, Kristina, Frances, Rachel, Jackson, Kirsten, and Alyssa. Jay was also blessed with wonderful great-grandchildren.
Jay conducted his life with strong values, prayer, integrity, kindness, and always made friends wherever he went. He loved the strategy of his work, sailing in Puget Sound, skiing that he took up at age 40, cribbage, crossword puzzles, camping with the family, and the beautiful birds in Washington. He shared his love of bird watching with Alice and that love has passed to many of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Jay will be truly missed by those he touched. We are all so glad that our paths in life have crossed with Jay’s. May he rest in peace.
