Joan Saunders Joan, age 82, passed away at Westwood's Retirement Home, Olympia, WA, on March 19, 2012, after a long illness. Joan was born in London, England, lived in Canada and California and moved to Olympia WA in 1984. Her husband Dick Saunders died in 1985. Joan was a gifted artist, photographer and knitter. She loved wildlife. She would have preferred that any monetary gifts be given to the Humane Society in her name. At her request, no formal services will be held. Joan will be remembered fondly by her many friends who knew and loved her.
