Keith was born in Van Nuys, California and later moved in childhood with his family to Connecticut then Washington. Even though it had been years since he lived in California, his heart never left. Keith and his family took vacations as often as possible to visit the beaches of CA and just recently returned from a trip there for the girls’ Spring Break.
Keith graduated from Federal Way High School and attended the Criminal Justice Training Commission working as a Police Officer for City of Federal Way, Pacific, City of Tenino and nisqually Police Departments. In 2006, Keith returned to the Boeing Company as an investigator.
Married August 25, 2002, to Tina Kramer of Tumwater, Washington. The couple welcomed two beautiful girls, BreeAnna (2003) and Kourtanee (2006) respectively, who were the most important and best part of his life.
Keith, a devoted father and avid car lover began amateur car racing at the high school drags. He enjoyed tinkering with all vehicles to see how fast they could go. Keith loved dismantling anything mechanical, just to see how it worked. His favorite track days were the “test & tune” at Pacific Raceway (SIR). He was excited to teach both of his daughters to drive. His beloved Mustang GT has had several passes down the track with him at the helm & his tune guy on speed dial.
He enjoyed our special furever babies, the 3 labs: Tayton, Beau & Oaklee. Working from home in recent years, he was able to develop a special bond with the pups and was their primary caretaker. The family duck, Penny, was known to behave like one of the dogs.
Keith is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Linda Lee (Fullerton) DuRussel. Keith is survived by his Father, Herbert Eugene DuRussel; Ex-wife, Tina Kramer and their children, BreeAnna and Kourtanee DuRussel; Brother Jeffrey E. DuRussel (Shannon) and Sister, Corilynn Hamlyn (DuRussel); Nephew Brett Hamlyn, Nieces Kyleigh N. Hamlyn (Kj) and Jessica Hamlyn Garcia (Apache); Great Niece, Shaniece. Kenneth & Diane Kramer; His favorite Aunt Debbie and all extended New York family including husband Andy & girls; Best friend Milt Bennum, Jason Glenn, Scott and Ang Simpson, Jerry Walker and numerous extended & non-blood “family”.
Keith’s absence leaves a tremendous loss in the lives of his family and friends. Blessed are those who knew him and his big belly laughs, his crazy dad jokes, his wicked-quick wit and love of Diet Mt Dew and Nutter Butters.
Thank you for joining us in celebrating the life of Keith and for helping to carry on his memory today and forever. Services will be held Friday, June 10 at 1:00 p.m. at Mills & Mills Funeral Home, 5725 Littlerock Road SW, Tumwater, WA 98512. Catered reception following.
We are blessed to have known and loved him.
Thank you again for joining with us as we honor him and his life.
Respectfully,
Tina, BreeAnna & Kourtanee
