She was born to the late Floyd and Estella Dana, September 10, 1948, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Linda graduated from Palmer High School in 1966.
She married the late Garry George Green August 29, 1967. Garry preceded her in death, September 20, 1968, while serving his country in Vietnam. On July 3, 1969 she married, but was later divorced from the late Larry Gene Robinson with whom she shared three children. Linda is survived by their three daughters: Catharine Robinson (Bradley Wheeler); Christina Robinson; and Cynthia Coleman. She is also survived by two granddaughters Kyliah and Lilah Coleman and her brother Arthur Dana (Jill Coursin).
Linda retired as a lead Materials Examiner and Identifier for the I Corps Logistics Center at Fort Lewis with over 28 years in Civil Service. Linda was recognized for her attention to detail, determination to find solutions to get the job done and her willingness to help others.
In retirement, Linda was passionate about genealogy and did extensive research and documentation of her family history. There was always one more photo or letter to scan and research. She shared a joy for photography with her brother and niece, Kari. She rarely went without a camera of some sort to capture her family, her pets and nature, especially birds. Linda loved to travel and to explore nature trails and national parks. Her daughters and granddaughters will forever treasure the memories they made with her on their journeys. Linda loved animals and her house was always filled with kitties and dogs.
Linda was immensely proud of her family and was always there for them. She especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters. They loved that “Grandma was always smiling.” Linda leaves her family an amazing legacy of strength to overcome any obstacle and how to love unconditionally. They will deeply miss her warmth, intelligence and her smile. Although Linda was taken from them too soon, her daughters take comfort that when Cynthia recently asked what was on her bucket list, Linda replied she had already done everything she had on it.
Linda was cremated, as was her wish, and will be interred at the Mills and Mills Memorial Park in Tumwater, Washington. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests that people make donations in support of one of Linda’s passions such as supporting our veterans, an animal welfare society, cancer research, or our national parks.
