Mai Hoang was born in 1956 in Nha Trang, Vietnam. She is survived by her husband, Vi Dao, in Olympia, Washington, and also her six siblings and mother in Vietnam. In 1994, Mai relocated to Olympia, which has been her home ever since. Those who knew Mai, always appreciated her warm and joyful personality, hospitality to others, and of course, great cooking. In fact, she was brilliant at making sushi rolls- it was one of her specialties. Her filial piety to her family and ancestors were so much admired. Mai loved flowers, and she was a big fan of comedic shows as well as soap operas. Her family and friends will miss immensely her bright spirit and the smile that came with it.
