It is with profound shock and sorrow that we announce the passing of our daughter Maki, who died of Sudden Unexpected Death from Epilepsy (SUDEP) on August 12th, 2024, at age 15. Maki brought immeasurable light and joy into our lives. She is forever in the hearts of her siblings; sister Medanit, brothers Le'ul, Elias, Alazar, Bekele and Yitagesu, and parents Pete and Cinde.

A funeral service for Maki will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 11:45AM to 1:00 PM at Saint Michael Parish, 1055 Boundary St SE, Olympia, WA 98501. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Mills & Mills Memorial Park, 5725 Littlerock Rd SW, Tumwater, WA 98512. A catered reception will occur Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 2:30 PM at Mills & Mills Funeral Home, 5725 Littlerock Rd. SW, WA 98512.
