Margaret Bragg graced this world on June 9, 1923 in Seattle, WA. She died on February 8, 2016 in Olympia, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Mary Bosworth of Seattle, her brother Doug Bosworth and her son, John Bragg. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Ken Bragg, their children Janet Wainright (Ray), Geoffrey Bragg, Janell Bragg and Cecilia Abad; her grandchildren Dana Kelleher (Jamison), Shawn Miller, Jay (Luz) and Ceci Navas; great-grandchildren Ryan and Jordyn Miller, Robinson and Ferguson Kelleher, Diego, Celeste and Julian Navas as well as many, many friends and neighbors.
She was a woman who wore many hats: including devoted wife and mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter, cousin, friend, neighbor and on and on and on. Although Motherhood was her favorite profession, she also held many jobs during her full life. As a young woman, she worked at Boeing(s) where she typed the specs for one of the bomber planes. She also held positions at various shops, including Frederick & Nelson, a fabric store and a candy shop. She was a High School science teacher's assistant worked as a US Senator's receptionist where she was credited, by him, with his re-election and for her rapport with his constituents. When she retired she had earned enough pension that, when combined with her husband's, enabled them to enjoy a lakefront home on Ken Lake in Olympia, WA. Additionally, she belonged to book clubs, was Leader, for many years, at her TOPS chapter, served as class Secretary for the Golden Grads, an Alumni Association of Roosevelt High School in Seattle, and served on the Mended Hearts Board of Directors here in Olympia.
She had a voracious appetite for gardening and appreciated all living things. She was a writer, a poet, a musician, an artist, and a storyteller. She loved spreading random acts of kindness, always offering a warm smile and easily made friends wherever she went.
Her spirited presence influenced everyone she touched – truly the most beautiful woman you'll ever be lucky enough to know. She left us as the benchmark for all things good.
Her family would like to thank all of the ER and ICU staff at St. Peter Hospital for their professionalism, compassion and sensitivity.
Margaret will be deeply missed, first and foremost by her loving family.
Services will be held at Lacey Senior Center on February 27th at 1:00pm.
