Margie, 19, married Holmes, 20, on October 11, 1952. “Their song” was Nat King Cole’s, Too Young. They shared a loving and lifelong commitment to one another.
Margie was a beauty queen and an active mother of six daughters. She was an expert seamstress, excellent baker, and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Holmes Norman Pekelo (60); and daughter, Barbara Kirchmeier (66).
Margie is survived by five daughters: Alexis, Ramona, Deb, Melanie, and Norma; 11 grandkids and 11 great grandkids; and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, the ninth of July 2025, at 12pm at St. Michael Catholic Parish, 1204 11th Avenue SE, Olympia, WA. A reception will follow in the Gathering Space.
A committal service will be held on Monday, the thirteenth of October 2025, at 11am at Hawai’i State Veterans Cemetery in Kane’ohe, HI.
