Marion Faye Hunter Hovey, 89, passed away on February 7, 2025. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at First United Methodist Church, 805 Canal St NE, Decatur, AL 35601. The family will receive at 1:00 pm, with the service to follow at 2:00 pm, Rev. Alex Beaube officiating.
Mrs. Hovey was born in Bend, Oregon on March 1, 1935 to Harold Arthur and Marion Michaelson Hunter. She graduated from Bend High School and Oregon State University. She was a member of Eastern Star and a life-long Methodist, where she was a member of United Methodist Women for many years, as well serving in numerous other leadership positions.
She is survived by her son, Ken Hovey (Jean), brother, George Hunter (Nucia), sister, Jean Hunter Carr (Dan), and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Nancy Joan Hovey, and son David Hovey Hunter.
