

Maurice E. “Maury” Christopherson passed away 11/22/12 at Panorama Convalescent Center. He was born on 6/14/21 to Olaus and Karina (Oakland) Christopherson and raised on the family farm in White Earth, North Dakota. He credited his longevity to all the hard work he put in on the farm. He claimed his youth was identical to the “Little House on the Prairie” books. At age 16, the family moved to Tacoma, where he graduated from Stadium High School in 1939. After serving in the Navy in WWII, he married Beverly Trevis on 8/9/47 and started Christopherson Wood Floors the same year. He’s survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Beverly; 5 children: Karina Christopherson, Angela Christopherson, Olympia; Diane (Carl) Mathisen, Anchorage, AK; Susan (Bob) Emery, Grants Pass, OR; and John (Lynette) Christopherson, Olympia; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren; sister: Helen Sater, Tacoma; numerous nieces and nephews, including Candy Stickney and Camilla Christopherson. He was predeceased by his parents, 7 siblings and 2 grandchildren, Silas and Joshua. Maury loved his family, flying and fishing in Alaska. He will be missed by many. A memorial service will be held at Mills & Mills, 5725 Littlerock Rd SW, Tumwater, on Saturday, 12/8/12, at 11:30 am. Memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warriors, or charity of choice
