Merrill "Jimmy" Zobrist entered Heaven on July 1, 2015 at the age of 88. e served honorably in the Navy during WWII, worked on tugboats, then worked for WSDOT where he met the love of his life, Evelyn. They built their lifelong home at Offutt Lake and raised a daughter.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was an NRA member, played guitar, and enjoyed raising Airedales. He and Evie retired, bought a motorhome, joined the South Sound Sam's group and off they went.
Merrill was many things but most of all was a good person with a wonderful sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Evie; daughter, Sher; four grandchildren, Scott, John, Susan and Eva; one great-grandchild, Summer; and dog, Maggie.
A celebration of life will be held on July 18, 2015, 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the Veterans Memorial Museum, 100 SW Veterans Way, Chehalis, WA 98532.
Arrangement was under the direction of Mills & Mills Funeral Home, Tumwater, Washington.
