Paul Bernard Wayson was born September 13, 1937, and danced into Heaven on May 12, 2023. He was 85 years old. He was born in Kentucky and raised in Ohio. He enlisted in the Army, graduated from the Antiaircraft Artillery Guided Missile School in 1956 and served as a radar technician in Florida during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was honorably discharged in 1963 then served in the Army National Guard. He was honorably discharged from the Reserve in 1965.
Paul married his first wife Patti and had two children, Debbie and Wayne. He worked at Bar S meats for seventeen years then Panasonic for nineteen years before retiring.
Paul loved Jesus and used his gifts and talent to serve others. He participated in four mission trips in Okinawa, Peru, Israel and Mexico. He was there for those in need – driving his friends to doctor’s appointments, helping to rebuild the church after a fire and countless other acts of kindness. Paul loved gardening and two weeks prior to his death could be found in the yard, determined in spite of his ailing health, to pull those weeds!
Rejoicing with him in Heaven, are his mother Juanita Wayson and father William Wayson, brothers Robert, Charles [Pete] and Ray Wayson and sisters Edna Dodson and Evelyn Tallent and his second wife, Jane.
Paul is survived by his older brother William Wayson, daughter Debbie Long [Bill], son Wayne Wayson [Christine] and grandchildren, Meghann and Billy, [Debbie and Bill] and Timothy [Rebekah], Daniel, Matthew [Emily], Ruth Hall [Curtis], Sam, Abigail, Jacob, Esther and Naomi [Wayne and Christine], great-grandson Ezekiel [Matthew and Emily] and stepchildren Terri Morann, Anne Dols and Tom DeVilliers.
