

Phyllis J. Davis of Lacey, WA, died on February 3, 2024. She was born on July 10, 1935, in Grafton, ND to John and Anna (Olason) Horgdal. At age 5 she moved with her family to Washington. She graduated from Olympia High School in 1953.
After graduation she went to work for the State of Washington (primarily with the Liquor Control Board and the Attorney General’s Office), retiring in 1996.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Anna Horgdal, her five sisters - Fran DeFord, Mary Davis, Emily Caudill-Fry, Anna Lorimer and Hilda Berndson, and two brothers Jim Horgdal and John Horgdal. She is survived by her sister, Joanne Bash, her daughter Shelly Sweeney (Charlie), granddaughters Ashley, Megan and Angie, grandson Jeff, great grandson Donovan, great granddaughters Brinlee, Kendall and Payton, and numerous nieces and nephews.
We will all miss her love and great sense of humor. Her greatest joy in life was being a grandma and GG (great grandma). She also loved keeping in touch with old friends, family get-togethers, cheering on the Seahawks and Mariners, shopping (all kinds), Sudoku, and occasional casino runs.
A celebration of life will be held at Mills & Mills Funeral Home & Memorial Park on February 17, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Light refreshments will follow.
