

Richard J. Wilson of Tumwater, born on May 6th, 1946, passed away on April 1st, 2018 at Capital Medical Center. He is preceded in death by his parents Mamie and Charles Wilson, wife Amy, and siblings Tommy and Sheila. He is survived by sisters Cheryl and Barbara Wilson (of Anchorage, AK) (of Shelton, WA), nephews Charles, Christopher and Smith. Nieces Leila, Lydise, Toni & Tawnya, numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews. Life long school friends Ron Caparon and Terry Gilchrist.
He was honorably discharged from the USMC in 1967 and served in the USMC Reserves. Richard was a Vietnam Veteran and a life member of the V.F.W. Post 318, Olympia, WA. He was a head custodian for the Tumwater School District until he medically retired in 2013. Previous employment consisted of bartending for various establishments in and around the Olympia area.
Richard was an enrolled Tribal member of the Choctaw Nation and recognized Tribal Veteran. Services will be held at Mills & Mills Memorial Park on April 17th, at 11am followed by a Celebration of Life at the V.F.W.
