Our beloved husband and father, Robert Wendell Guyette “Rob, Robish, Robbie” passed away suddenly on January 23, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Darlene Y. Guyette “Dori”, his children, Louie Guyette and Corrinalyn Guyette “Sissy”, his nephew Matt Mohney and his grandchildren, Brock, Beau, and Richter Guyette. He is also survived by his sister Tammy Bailey, brother Bart Pettijohn and several nieces, nephews, and incredible in-laws. Rob was proceeded in death by his mother Maybelle Sabedra, brothers Doug Guyette and Lewis Pettijohn.
Rob was born in San Rafael, CA on October 8, 1955, to Maybelle Corbin and Richard Guyette. He was raised with five siblings who loved him dearly and looked to him often for guidance, love, and support.
In 1980, Rob moved his young family from Antioch California to the Pacific Northwest where they settled in the Chehalis area. Rob worked as a local butcher, a rock driller, and was part of the Painter’s Union. He was hardworking and passionate about providing for his family.
What Rob loved most though was to spend time with his loved ones. He enjoyed being outdoors with family and friends; hunting, fishing, camping, or going to the beach. He loved hanging out with Dan Wolf, “Godfather”. He also enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports, and rarely missed a game. He was a great storyteller and had the rare gift of being able to make anyone laugh.
What Rob was most known for was being a thoughtful and caring husband to Dori. He was always positive, strong, and supportive through every situation, through the thick and the thin, for over four decades. The love they have and the way he felt about his wife is what people will always remember about Rob. He was what marriage is meant to be, never leaving Dori’s side.
At his heart, Rob was a caregiver, to his wife, his children, his grandchildren, his siblings, his friends, and his dog Honeybear. Anyone who knew Rob would say he would give you the shirt off his back.
A celebration of life will be held on March 11, 2023 at 1 pm at Newaukum Grange, 198 Napavine, WA 98532. All friends and family are welcome
