Ruby was born in Los Angeles County, as Tsuyako Ruby Watanuki, on January 15, 1917 to her mother, Haru Nishimura, and father, Masakichi Watanuki. She was twice married; to George K. Uyeda, then to Louis Joe Seehaas.
Affectionately known as “Ma” to her many young doters, and as “T” to her friends and family of her generation, Ruby was loved by many. Her kindness, strength, resilience, and wisdom made her a beacon to all who grew to know her. She grew up on a farm, persevered through the internment of Japanese-Americans during WWII, worked many years for Lockheed Martin, became an avid bowler, world traveler, and passionately followed figure skating. Throughout the years she called California, Arizona, and Washington her home.
She is survived by her 4 children, 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
A service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 17, 2014, at Mills & Mills Funeral Home in Tumwater, WA.
