Theresa Marie Duggins

Theresa Marie Duggins passed away October 8, 2014 at her home in Olympia, Washington after a year and a half long battle against cancer. Theresa was born March 24, 1961 in Shelton, Washington to Robert and Janae Hemness.

She lived the majority of her life in Olympia Washington, graduating from Capital High School in 1979. She married Richard Grant in 1985 and had two children, Whitney (Grant) Pearsall and Austin Grant. She later married Thomas Duggins in 2007 on the beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Theresa worked the majority of her life in retail management working as a Store Manager for Safeway Inc. and later as a District Manager for the Washington State Liquor Control Board. Theresa loved gardening, decorating for the different seasons/ holidays, especially Christmas, hosting gatherings for special occasions and traveling.

Theresa is survived by her daughter Whitney Pearsall and Whitney’s husband Kyle Pearsall, her son Austin Grant, her grandson Cason Pearsall, her parents Robert and Janae Hemness, her brother Steve Hemness and her sister Marianne Scheer. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Duggins (November 5, 2011).

Memorial services will be held at Mills & Mills Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Tumwater, WA on October 17, 2014 at 1pm. A reception will follow for family and friends at the Carlyon Beach Homeowner’s Association Clubhouse located at 2719 Island Dr. NW in Olympia WA.
