

Tom was born in Devil’s Lake, North Dakota on February 27th, 1931 to Edwin and Florence Iverson. His family relocated to Coos Bay, Oregon where he attended St. Monica’s Catholic School through 8th grade. He then moved to Coquille, Oregon and graduated from Coquille High School in 1949. In his youth he worked various jobs which included setting pins at a bowling alley and as a mechanic at a gas station before he attended college at the University of Portland.
After graduating from college with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, he and his chemistry professor started a chemical company that specialized in water treatment for commercial boilers and cooling towers. Tom was the lead salesperson for the company and serviced clients in Washington, Oregon and California for several years until the business was sold. He continued in water treatment sales until retirement.
On May 7th, 1960, Tom married his college sweetheart, Sally Peppy in Portland, Oregon. They moved to Olympia, Washington and had four children together: Tommy, Carl, Carol and Marcia. Tom was also a loyal member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and enjoyed attending mass on Sundays
with his family.
Tom is survived by his loving wife and their four children; as well as his oldest son, Danny Allen; his two grandchildren, Hannah and Ryan Adams; and his brother Fred Iverson and Fred’s wife, Marylee Iverson. He was grateful for the wonderful care he received in his last years at Panorama City, and to all
of those who were close to him. He is lovingly remembered as a husband, father, grandpa, mentor, comedian and an innovator.
A fellowship gathering and rosary service will be held at Mills & Mills Funeral Home located at 5725 Littlerock Road SW, Tumwater, WA 98512, on June 24th , 2014 beginning at 6:00 p.m. Rosary ceremony will be at 7 p.m. All are welcome to attend to celebrate Tom’s life. A private mass and burial
service will be held in Olympia, Washington.
