Adelaide Augusta Lindo, age 93, of Turlock, California passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019. She was born February 19, 1926 in São Mateus da Calheta, Terceira, Açores to Maria Santos and Manuel Machado.
Adelaide is survived by: son John Lindo (Fatima) of Hickman; son Joe Lindo of Turlock; son Manuel Lindo (Sarah) of Hilmar; and daughter Clara Lindo of Turlock. Mrs. Lindo also leaves behind seven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild as well as many nephews, nieces, and cousins to honor her memory.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, two grandsons, and all of her brothers and sisters.
Adelaide was a dedicated parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Turlock, California. She enjoyed spending time with her children, cooking, sewing, going to the casinos, and traveling to Lake Tahoe and the Açores.
A visitation for Adelaide will be held from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service: 286 W. Main Street, Turlock, California. During the visitation, there will be a recitation of the rosary at 7:00 PM.
A funeral mass will occur at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church: 1200 Lyons Avenue, Turlock, California. She will be laid to rest following the services at Turlock Memorial Park: 575 N. Soderquist Road, Turlock, California.
