Antonio Maria Rosa, age 92, of Hilmar, California passed away at Emanuel Medical Center on Sunday, November 13, 2022. Antonio was born in Velas São Jorge, Açores, to Erestina De Conceicao and Jose M. Leal.
Antonio is survived by his two sons Luis M. Rosa married to Dana Rosa of Paso-Robles and Pedro A. Rosa married to Solange Fraga of Brasil. Antonio also leaves behind his 6 Grandchildren Pedro Rosa (Ana), Olavo Rosa (Cameron), Seth Rosa, Elai Rosa, Ashley Picanco (Daniel) and Julianna Rosa, along with his 3 great grandchildren Tiago Picanco, Goncalinho Rosa and Dacio Picanco to honor his memory.
Antonio was preceded in death by his spouse Maria Rosa, his father Jose M. Leal, his mother Erestina De Conceicao along with his 3 brothers Manuel da Rosa Leal, Albano da Rosa and Jose Maria da Rosa. Antonio was also preceded in death by a sister.
Antonio was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church of Turlock, was a Director of the Brotherhood of Saint Anthony of Patterson, Portuguese Club of the Brotherhood of “Divino Espirito Santo” of Hilmar, and member of Our Lady of Miracles Catholic Church of Gustine. He was also very involved in helping with the card parties at Our Lady of the Assumption and many other churches in and around the area.
A Visitation for Antonio will be held Monday, November 21, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 West Main, Turlock, CA 95380.
A Rosary Service will occur Monday, November 21, 2022 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 286 West Main, Turlock, CA 95380.
A Funeral Service will occur Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 2602 South Walnut Road, Turlock, CA 95380.
A Committal Service will occur Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at N. Hilmar Cemetery, 8710 N. Tegner Road, Hilmar, CA 95324.
Serving as pallbearers are Olavo Rosa, Daniel Picanco, Seth Rosa, Elai Rosa, Johnny Borba and Luis Rosa.
