Jose Raimundo Sousa

Mr. José Raimundo Sousa, age 80 was born in Santo Antonio, São Jorge, Azores “Entered into Rest” on Monday, February 3, 2014 at Kaiser Hospital in Redwood City, CA. Mr. Sousa was a resident of Half Moon Bay, CA for 52 years and was employed as a Range Manager for Bay City Flower Company for 37 years. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden, landscaping around his house and personally engraved a hedge in the front yard with the family name “Sousa”. Mr. Sousa enjoyed spending time with family and friends and attending Portuguese Events. José R. Sousa was a member of the I.D.E.S. , Brotherhood of St. Anthony, Portuguese Cultural Center and Our Lady of Pillar Catholic Church all of Half Moon Bay. Mr. Sousa is survived by: His Wife of 52 years, Luisa M. Sousa of Half Moon Bay; Three Daughters – Rose Sousa Kelly (James) of Benicia, CA, Lynda Sousa Sanderson (Andrew) of Pacifica, CA and Debbie Sousa Legg (Christopher) of Discovery Bay, CA; Sister – Amelia Reis of Santo Antonio, São Jorge, Azores; Four Grandchildren – Andrew James Kelly and Jacqueline Rose Kelly, both of Benicia and Asher Benjamin Legg and McKenzie Marie Legg both of Discovery Bay. Preceded in Death by: his Parents – João and Maria Sousa; 3 Brothers – Manuel Sousa, João Sousa and Francisco Sousa; Sister – Carmelia da Silveira.

Services:

Visitation – Monday, February 10, 2014 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Pillar Catholic Church, 400 Church St., Half Moon Bay with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the Church.

Funeral Mass – Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 12:00 noon at Our Lady of Pillar Catholic Church, Half Moon Bay.

Interment – following the Funeral Mass at Skylawn Memorial Park, Hwy 92 at Route 35, San Mateo, CA.
