Julio de Fraga Alferes

Julio is survived by his wife of sixty years, Maria Didia Alferes of Merced, his son John B. Alferes of Madera and his brother John M. Alferes of Atwater.

Julio was preceded in death by his son José Jorge Alferes his parents João de Fraga Alferes and Palmira Inacia Mendes along with his sister Maria Herminia Alferes.

Julio was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Merced and I.D.E.S. of Merced.

A Visitation for Julio will be held Monday, December 18, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 West Main, Turlock, CA 95380.

A Recitation of the Rosary and Funeral Mass will occur Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 562 West 13th Street, Merced, CA 95341.

A Committal Service will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Merced Cemetery District, 1300 B Street, Merced, CA 95341.

Serving as pallbearers are John B. Alferes, Paula Mosley, Alice Nguyen, Helena Silva, John M. Alferes, and Daniel Nunes.
