Julio Fernando Almeida, age 78, of Atwater, California passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 2, 2021. Julio was born March 14, 1943 in Rosais São Jorge, Açores to Manuel and Leonilde Almeida.
Julio is survived by his spouse of 53 years, Maria Vitoria Almeida of Atwater; his daughter Dina Almeida Sousa (Robert) of Atwater; his brother Ilidio Jorge Almeida of Livingston, his sister Maria de Lurdes Maciel of Los Banos and his sister Maria da Conceicao Pires of Livingston; Julio is also survived by his four grandchildren, Nicholas Sousa, Andrew Sousa, Brayden Sousa and Cameron Sousa.
Julio was preceded in death by his sisters; Lucinda dos Santos Almeida and Elena Bernadette Almeida and his brother Egidio Manuel Almeida.
Julio was a member of; St. Jude Thaddeus Roman Catholic Church, Livingston Pentecost Club, Filarmonica Nova Artista Açoreana de Tracy, founding member of Filarmonica Lira Açoreana de Livingston, and Casa dos Açores da California
A visitation for Julio will be held Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 West Main, Turlock, CA 95380.
A rosary service followed by a funeral mass will occur Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 9:00 AM at St. Jude Thaddeus Roman Catholic Church, 330 Franci Street, Livingston, CA 95334.
A committal service at Winton Cemetery District, 7651 Almond Avenue, Winton, CA 95388 will follow the funeral mass.
Serving as pallbearers are Gino Almeida, Gilbert Almeida, Marco Almeida, Paulo Almeida, Victor Maciel and Nicholas Sousa.
