Maria H. Caetano

Mrs. Maria Humberta Caetano, age 83 “Entered into Rest” on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 in Hilmar, CA. She was born in Ribeira Seca, São Jorge, Azores and has lived in Hilmar for 44 years. Mrs. Caetano was a line worker at Foster Farms for 26 years and she enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting and knitting. She was a devout believer of the Holy Spirit and helped with many celebrations. She was a member of C.P.I.D.E.S. of Hilmar, S.P.R.S.I. of Hilmar and P.F.S.A. Co. #26 of Stevinson/Turlock/Hilmar, Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Hilmar. Mrs. Caetano is survived by: Three Sons – José Caetano and his Wife Maria of Newman, Wagner Caetano and his Wife Zelia of Hilmar and Veber Caetano and his Wife Ana of Hilmar; Brother – José Ribeiro and his Wife Carmelia of Ribeira Seca, São Jorge, Azores; 2 Sisters – Maria Ligia Avila and her Husband João of Ribeira Seca, São Jorge, Azores, and Maria Alice Ramos and her Husband Manuel of Madalena, Pico, Azores; 3 Grandchildren – Jennifer Correia and her Husband Wonderley of Hilmar, Wesley Caetano and his Wife Aimee of Hilmar and Cathy Caetano of Newman; 2 Great-grandchildren - Braidyn and Brielle Correia of Hilmar. Several Godchildren – in the Azores and California. Nieces and Nephews in São Jorge, Azores and São Miguel, Azores; Cousins in California; She was preceded in death by: Her Husband – Antonio Sousa Caetano on December 20, 2008, Son- Elder Caetano and her Parents – Antonio & Adelina Ribeiro.

Services: Visitation – Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel, 286 W. Main St., Turlock, CA 95380. Combined Rosary and Funeral Mass – Friday, July 24, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 20263 American Ave., Hilmar. Interment following the Funeral Mass at North Hilmar Cemetery District, 8710 N. Tegner Rd., Hilmar.
