Maria Fatima Tavaras Laranjo, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at her home in Winton, California on April 4th, 2025 at the age of 89.
She was born on November 22, 1935 in Cedros, Faial, Azores to Arsenio and Ana Tavaras. Maria Fatima arrived in America in 1959 and lived in several cities in California before settling in Winton, Ca for 55 Years.
She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Antonio D. Laranjo, on July 23, 1960 in Turlock, Ca. Together they shared 65 wonderful years of love, laughter, and commitment to each other and the family they built.
They were blessed with three children: Two sons Tony D. Laranjo and Danny G. Laranjo, and a daughter Theresa M. Claunch, who completed their charming family.
Fatima's life was marked by deep devotion to her Catholic faith and she was a parishioner at St. Anthonys Catholic Church in Atwater, CA. Fatima was a long time member of the Portuguese Fraternal Society of America.
Fatima had a fondness for gardening, especially caring for her beloved roses. Her home was always open and welcoming with delicious meals and kindness. She had deep immeasurable love for her family, friends, and everyone around her. She cherished the time spent with her loved ones and spread an aura of joy, friendship, and comfort to all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arsenio and Ana Tavaras, and her sisters, Adelina Ventura and Violante Silva.
Fatima is survived by her loving husband Antonio D. Laranjo, sons Tony D. Laranjo and Danny G. Laranjo, and daughter Theresa M. Laranjo-Claunch (Max). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren Sarah Marino (Ryan), Holly Claunch-Brown (Marcus), and Noah Claunch and her treasured great-grandchildren Delilah, Zoey, Ethan, and Evelyn Marino.
Fatima's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, kindness, devotion, and her beautiful smile will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Nasceu em Cedros, Faial, Açores, filha de Ana e Arsenio Tavares.
A Sra. Laranjo deixa de luto o seu marido António Duarte Laranjo com quem foi casada 65 anos,; os seus filhos Tony Laranjo e Danny Laranjo, todos de Winton, Califórnia; e a sua filha Theresa Marie Claunch (Max), de Nashville, Tennessee; Deixa tambem os seus netos: Sarah Marino (Ryan), Holly Claunch-Brown (Marcus), Noah Claunch; e os seus bisnetos: Delilah, Zoey, Ethan e Evelyn Marino.
A Sra. Laranjo foi precedida na morte pelos seus pais Arsenio e Ana Emília Tavares; e as suas irmãs: Adelina Ventura e Violante Silva.
A Sra. Laranjo era paroquiana da Igreja Católica de Santo Antônio em Atwater, Califórnia, e membro da P.F.S.A.
A recitação do terço e a missa de corpo presente serão realizadas na quinta-feira, 24 de abril de 2025, às 9h30, na Igreja Católica de Santo Antônio, 1799 Winton Way, Atwater, CA 95301, seguindo-se o sepultamento no Cemitério Distrital de Winton, 7651 Almond Ave, Winton, CA 95388.
