Maria Madalena Vieira, age 95, of Los Banos, California passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. Maria was born in Santo Antão, Topo, São Jorge, Açores to Emilia Lucia Brasil and Manuel Azevedo Sousa.
Maria is survived by her son John Domingos Vieira (Quinn) of Modesto and her daughter Mary R. Wise (Randy) of Santa Maria; her sister-in-law Angela Vieira of Turlock and her brother-in-law; Angelo Goncalves of São Jorge. Maria also leaves behind her grandchildren; Chris Wise, Lisa Trama (Joey), Natasha Vieira and Mario Vieira, her great grandchildren; Nolan Trama, Miles Wise, Hailey Trama and Evan Trama, many nieces, nephews and godchildren to honor her memory.
Maria was preceded in death by her husband José C. Vieira; her father Manuel Azevedo Sousa; her mother Emilia Lucia Brasil; her siblings José Sousa, Manuel Sousa, João Sousa and Maria Sousa.
Maria was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Los Banos, a member of Nossa Senhora de Fatima of Los Banos and a member of P.F.S.A.
A Visitation for Maria will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 West Main, Turlock, CA 95380.
A Recitation of the Rosary and Funeral Mass will occur Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1621 Center Avenue, Los Banos, CA 93635.
A Committal Service will occur Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Los Banos Cemetery District, 16575 Center Avenue, Los Banos, CA 93635.
Serving as pallbearers are Tony Dias, Joe Sousa, Clarence Oliveira, Joe Vieira, Angelo Vieira and Joe Gonçalves.
