Nacido el 30 de septiembre de 1933 en Teocuitatlán de Corona, Jalisco, México, Miguel vivió una vida centrada en su fe, su familia y los momentos sencillos que le brindaban felicidad. Falleció el 21 de agosto de 2026 en Turlock, California, dejando atrás toda una vida de recuerdos y una familia que llevará consigo su amor para siempre.
Miguel era un hombre de fe. Su relación con Dios fue una parte importante de su vida, y permaneció involucrado en la iglesia a través del Bautismo, CCD, y la Confirmación. Su fe no solo se podía ver en su participación en la iglesia, sino también en la manera en que trataba a los demás. Miguel tenía un corazón dispuesto a servir. Creía en ayudar, en dar y en estar presente cuando alguien lo necesitaba.
La familia era el centro de la vida de Miguel. Le encantaba tener a sus hijos y nietos a su alrededor y disfrutaba de esos momentos que con el tiempo se convierten en historias familiares: las comidas, las risas, las conversaciones y simplemente el tiempo compartido juntos.
Tenía muchas cosas que disfrutaba. A Miguel le encantaba trabajar en sus árboles y cuidarlos. Disfrutaba de la pesca, la cacería, el tiro al blanco y jugar póker. Le encantaba una buena carne asada y las reuniones alrededor de una fogata, donde siempre había tiempo para cantar, reír y contar historias. El fútbol también fue una parte especial de su vida. Durante su juventud, Miguel fue entrenador de fútbol, trabajando tanto con jóvenes como con adultos y compartiendo con ellos el conocimiento y la pasión que tenía por este deporte.
Uno de los compañeros más especiales en la vida de Miguel fue su perro, Oso. Oso era una parte importante de su mundo y le brindaba compañía y alegría. El vínculo que compartían era un reflejo de la naturaleza cariñosa y bondadosa de Miguel.
Miguel será recordado con mucho amor por su esposa, Inocencia Martinez; sus hijos, Carlos Martinez, Ismael Martinez (Jacqueline), Maggie Garcia (Edward), Miguel “Mike” Martinez y Rita Martinez (Arturo); y sus nietos, Carlos Martinez Jr. (Stephanie), Diana Martinez, Casandra Rodriguez, Alexandrea Garcia (Jesse), Daniel Martinez Jr., Janiva Corso (Kyle), Micah Martinez, Josie Martinez, Victoria Martinez, Alfonso Rodriguez III, Nalani Rodriguez, Kirrah Rodriguez, Serenity Garcia Gomez, BellaPayton Gomez Garcia, Arianna Garibay, Nicholas Garibay, Sebastian Garcia, Ezekiel Mulgado, Ronin Corso, Gideon Martinez y Aria Martinez.
Le precedieron en la muerte sus hermanos, Filomeno Martinez, Teresa Martinez, Refugio Martinez, Rosa Martinez, Martina Martinez Garica, Senaido Martinez, Dolores Martinez, Francisco Martinez y Maria de Jesus Martinez Villegas; sus hijos, Griselda Martinez, Miguel Angel Martinez, Maria Martinez, Maria Martinez, y Daniel Martinez; y su nieta, Christine Martinez.
Miguel deja atrás más que una familia; deja un legado. Este se encuentra en la fe que practicó, en las personas a quienes sirvió, en los árboles que cuidó, en los partidos que entrenó, en las comidas que compartió, en las canciones que cantó y en los innumerables recuerdos que creó con las personas que amaba.
Su familia extrañará su presencia, pero continuará encontrándolo en las cosas que les enseñó, en las tradiciones que ayudó a crear y en el amor que dio tan generosamente.
Familiares y amigos están invitados a honrar y celebrar la vida de Miguel.
Su Velación se llevará a cabo el jueves 10 de septiembre de 2026, de 4:00 p.m. a 7:00 p.m., en Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 W. Main Street, Turlock, California 95380, seguida de un Rosario a las 7:00 p.m. en el mismo lugar.
La Misa de Funeral se llevará a cabo el viernes 11 de septiembre de 2026 a las 11:30 a.m. en Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1200 Lyons Avenue, Turlock, California 95380.
Después de la Misa, se llevará a cabo el sepelio en Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Road, Turlock, California 95380.
Miguel vivió una vida de fe, familia, servicio y amor. Quienes lo conocieron recordarán no solo al hombre que fue, sino también la manera en que hacía sentir a las personas cuando estaban a su alrededor.

Born on September 30, 1933, in Teocuitatlán de Corona, Jalisco, Mexico, Miguel lived a life centered around his faith, his family, and the simple moments that brought him happiness. He passed away on August 21, 2026, in Turlock, California, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will carry his love with them always.
Miguel was a man of faith. His relationship with God was an important part of his life, and he remained involved in the church through Baptism, CCD, and Confirmation classes. His faith could be seen not only in his participation in the church, but in the way he treated others. Miguel had a servant’s heart. He believed in helping, giving, and being there when someone needed him.
Family was at the heart of Miguel’s life. He loved having his children and grandchildren around him and enjoyed the kind of moments that become family stories, the meals, the laughter, the conversations, and the time spent simply being together.
He had many things he enjoyed. Miguel loved working on his trees and taking care of them. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, target shooting, and playing poker. He loved a good carne asada and gatherings around a bonfire, where there was always time for singing, laughter, and stories. Soccer was also a special part of his life. In his younger years, Miguel was a soccer coach, working with both young people and adults and sharing with them the knowledge and passion he had for the game.
One of the most special companions in Miguel’s life was his dog, Oso. Oso was a big part of his world and brought him companionship and joy. Their bond was a reflection of Miguel’s caring and gentle nature.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Filomeno Martinez, Teresa Martinez, Refugio Martinez, Rosa Martinez, Martina Martinez Garica, Seniado Martinez, Dolores Martinez, Francisco Martinez, and Maria de Jesus Martinez Villegas; his children, Griselda Martinez, Miguel Angel Martinez, Maria Martinez, Maria Martinez, and Daniel Martinez; and his granddaughter, Christine Martinez.
Miguel leaves behind more than a family, he leaves behind a legacy. It is found in the faith he practiced, the people he served, the trees he cared for, the games he coached, the meals he shared, the songs he sang, and the countless memories made with the people he loved.
His family will miss his presence, but they will continue to find him in the things he taught them, the traditions he helped create, and the love he gave so freely.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Miguel’s life. His Velorio will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 W. Main Street, Turlock, California 95380, followed by a Rosario at 7:00 p.m. at the same location.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1200 Lyons Avenue, Turlock, California 95380. Following Mass, the committal be at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Road, Turlock, California 95380.
Miguel lived a life of faith, family, service, and love. Those who knew him will remember not only the man he was, but the way he made people feel when they were around him.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
