Allan Jack Spencer

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2020, at Memory Hill Gardens with Donald Harris officiating and Memory Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Spencer was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Percy Spencer.

He is survived by his daughter, Crystal Spencer; son, James Spencer; sister, Debbie Spencer Grammer (Glenn); niece, Misty Oswalt (Heath); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; his cantankerous dog Lil Jack; and many friends.

Allan left this world unexpectedly Sunday, September 2020 around 11am. He was born in London, England where his father was stationed during World War II. He attended high school at Holt High School in the Class of 1965. Allan served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War on the USS Mauna Kea (AE-22) ammunition ship, supplying ammunition and bombs to aircraft carriers.

During Allan's professional career, he worked in the HVAC Shop at Bryce Hospital for 25 years. Upon retirement, he accepted a position at Farley & Hysaw Heating and Cooling repairing and maintaining HVAC systems at BF Goodrich for 12 years.

Allan loved spending time with his family, Lil Jack, riding his Harley Davidson, and was known for being the jokester in the room. He was a regular at the former Exxon at the corner of JVC Road in Cottondale. There, he made many friends, memories, and took pride in making the best coffee in Tuscaloosa.

Allan was known by many names like Dad, Unc, Bro, Bubba, and "Frenchie" in high school. He was a very giving man and was always willing to lend a helping hand when in need.

There are many stories and memories each of us can think of to cherish with Allan and this world will never be the same without him. Rest In Peace Dad. We love you and miss you very much.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Grammer, Heath Oswalt, Danny Spencer, Chris Abernathy, Alvan Durrett, and Mike Mitchum.

Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Bibb Medical Center, Dr. John Hollis, Centreville and Brent Police Departments, and the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
