Betty Sue Ponds of Jasper, Alabama passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Chaplain Colonel Benjamin Perez, USAF (Ret) and Rev. David Esco officiating. Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Major James Edward Ponds in February and by her parents, Reverend and Mrs. E.A. Ballenger and her brother, Billy Ray Ballenger. She is survived by her son, Jeremy James Ponds, and by four grandchildren, Jordan, Jacob, Kaylea, and Kaden Ponds, as well as three sisters, Faye Creel (David), Linda Davenport (Freddie), and Janet Chism (Keith).
