With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the remarkable life of Betty Stokes who embodied faith, fierce devotion, laughter, and an unforgettable spark of holy mischief.
A devoted Christian wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she built her life upon the solid rock of her faith in Jesus Christ. Her Bible was well worn, her prayers were constant, and her trust in God never wavered. She didn’t just speak about faith — she lived it daily, through kindness, service, forgiveness, and steadfast love.
As a wife, she was a loyal and loving partner to Kenneth for 66 years, standing shoulder to shoulder with him through every season of life. Together they built a home filled with warmth, resilience, and unwavering commitment. Her marriage was not just a relationship, but a testimony.
As a mother, she was both a safe harbor and a mighty fortress. Fiercely protective of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, she defended her family with the boldness of a lioness and the determination of a prayer warrior. No one doubted where she stood when it came to those she loved. If you were hers, you were covered — in prayer, in protection, and sometimes in very strong opinions.
Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew her as a source of comfort, wisdom, and endless entertainment. “BeeBee” could deliver heartfelt life advice one moment and say something hilariously off-the-wall the next. Her sense of humor was legendary — delightfully unpredictable, slightly mischievous, and always memorable. She embraced her “comically crazy” side with confidence, never afraid to laugh at herself or to make others laugh when they needed it most.
She created traditions, cooked meals that tasted like home, gave hugs that fixed everything, and offered prayers that carried her family through storms. Her voice could soothe, her stories could captivate, and her laughter could fill an entire room.
Though fiercely protective, her love extended beyond family. She welcomed friends as her own, offered encouragement freely, and lived with a generosity of spirit that left a lasting mark on everyone she met.
Her legacy is not measured only in years lived, but in lives shaped. Because of her, her family stands stronger, prays harder, laughs louder, and loves deeper.
BeeBee leaves behind generations who will carry forward her faith, her strength, her boldness, and yes — her wonderfully comical spark.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” Her life was a blessing. Her love was a gift. Her memory will remain a treasure.
