

Robert Carley Lee Snider, age 88, of Northport, Alabama passed away Saturday, July 8, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be held at Memory Chapel Funeral Home on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Gardens in the Masonic Garden. A reception will follow at the funeral home. Please stay and share your memories of Carley.
Carley was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth M. Snider; parents, Sampson Snider and Amanda Lillian Snider; brothers, James Snider and Sampson Snider Jr.
Carley is survived by his step daughter, Michelle Weiss (Scott); step son, Derwin Adams; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; special cousin, Pat Martinez.
Carley was a 1954 graduate of Brookwood High School. He retired from the City of Tuscaloosa as Chief Operator of the Water Works Department. During his 38 year tenure he worked at the River View and Ed Love Water Treatment Plants. Carley was a member of the Rising Virtue Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons where he was a member for over 50 years. He also was a member of the Zamora Temple for over 50 years. Carley was a lifelong Christian and in recent years attended Southside United Methodist Church and Union Chapel Methodist Church. At Southside United Methodist, he served as a greeter and in many roles helping with the church services. He had many friends.
The family would like to thank the employees of Northport Medical Center, Aspire Rehabilitation, Moundville Health and Rehabilitation, and Amedisys for their excellent care of Carley over the last few months when his health declined.
Pallbearers will be be Darrell Hubbert, Wallace Johnson, Jeff Lewis, Kenneth Lewis, Chuck Spain, and Andy Williams.
Honorary Pallbearers are Friends of Union Chapel Methodist Church.
Carley loved flowers and during his retirement his hobby was flower gardening. He had a beautiful lawn. Flowers remind the family of him and will be accepted. However, if you prefer a donation, please donate to Union Chapel United Methodist Church in Northport, Alabama.
