Carol Ballard

Carol Ballard, age 80 of Tuscaloosa, Alabama passed away at home on January 14, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm at Memory Chapel Funeral Home on Sunday, January 19, 2025. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Ballard; parents, Charlie and Martha Pevehouse; grandson, Lucas Phillips.

She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Elkins (Greg), Melinda Phillips (Tim) and Anita Clark (Randall); son, Rick Taylor (Angie); sisters, Charline Sherman, Shirley Gotzen-berg, Kathy Smith; grandchildren, Candace Thompson, Chase Thompson, Colby Thompson, Miranda Craft, Josh Jones, Evan Jones; great grandchildren, Knox Thompson, Miller Thompson, Sadie Craft, Addi Kate Craft, Mackenzie Jones, Jackson Jones, Tucker Jones.

Carol grew up in California and in 1964 moved to Alabama with her former husband, Jim Taylor, and raised her four children. She married Charlie Ballard in 1995 and they remained together until his death in 2022. Carol and Charlie enjoyed traveling with Bama Camping Club where they made lifelong friends. They were also avid supporters of University of Alabama sports. Carol was a member of Northport Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Chase Thompson, Colby Thompson, Greg Thompson, Josh Jones, Jackson Jones and Wayne Phillips.
