Celia Belle Criswell

Celia Belle Orr Criswell, age 86, of Coker, Alabama passed away on October 25, 2023 at Hospice of West Alabama. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023 from 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM. Celia was preceded in death by her husband, James Criswell; parents, A.D. Orr and Lee Orr; brothers, Veryl Orr, Hamilton Orr and Horace Orr; sisters, May Heidorn, Polly Hobson, and Betty Ann Web; She is survived by her daughter, Laura Lee Elmore (Tony); sons, Eddie Criswell (Ginger)

and Andy Criswell (Kim). Celia graduated from Tuscaloosa High School and Druid City School of Nursing. She was the first director of nursing at West Alabama General Hospital and later Assistant Administrator of West Alabama General Hospital. She was a devout christian, teaching Sunday School at South Highlands Baptist Church and Mount Olive Baptist Church. She loved camping, fishing, gardening and reading. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Pallbearers will be Tracy Orr, Vernon Ray, Mike Hutchenson, Cliff Sutton, George Evans, and Kevin Marshall. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Duren, Jeff Cook,
