Charles P. Harless, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025, at the age of 89. Born in Elrod, Alabama but long time resident of Tuscaloosa, Charles was known for his unwavering work ethic, deep family devotion, and genuine kindness.
He was preceded in death by parents, Forrest and Frances Harless; and two brothers, Howard Harless and Thomas Harless.
He is survived by his wife, Margie S. Harless; daughter Kerri Bosch (Tommy, Jr.); grandchildren Ashley Battle (Willis), Blake Bosch, and Lauren Bosch; great-grandchild Brody Battle; two other children; his brother, Harry Harless (Bonnie); and nephews, Michael Harless (Karen) and Jeffrey Harless (Sabrina).
A graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School and a veteran of the United States Army, Charles dedicated his life to hard work and service. He owned and operated Parkview Auto Service in Tuscaloosa and later established his own antique business, where he shared his passion for collecting and preserving history, especially antique clocks.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Charles was a man of simple pleasures. He loved a big bowl of ice cream, his daughter’s sweet tea, a good NASCAR race, and Alabama football. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored.
Charles' legacy is one of love, integrity, and dedication. Once a founding member of Open Door Baptist church, he dedicated his life to the Lord and took much pride in that. He will be incredibly missed by all who had the chance to know him.
Visitation and short service led by close friends, Rev. Otis Hill and Rev. Roger Emerson, will be held at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Tommy Bosch, Jr., Scotty Bosch, Blake Bosch, Brody Battle, Michael Harless, Jeffrey Harless, David Craig (“Lightning”).
