

TUSCALOOSA – Cleon Brown "C.B." Richardson, age 81, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., died April 28, 2018, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Brown Richardson; father, Cleon Richardson; and stepmother, Evelyn Richardson.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Parham Richardson; son, Mark A. Richardson (Sarah Frances); sisters, Elaine Waltman (Jim), Charlotte Foster (Mike), and Ann Rutledge; brother, Robert Richardson (Dottie); granddaughter, Mary Allen Richardson; and several nieces and nephews.
Cleon was born and raised in Tuscaloosa. His early career in newspaper and advertising took him to Fairhope, Ala., Scottsboro, Ala., Jennings, La. and Oakdale, La. He later returned to Tuscaloosa to work for the City of Tuscaloosa. Shortly thereafter, he went to work for Alabama Gas Corporation where he worked until he retired. After retirement, he went to work for Enterprise Rent-A-Car where he worked for several years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, watching Alabama football and spending time with friends and family, especially his granddaughter Mary Allen.
Honorary pallbearers are his special friend since childhood John Keene; Virginia Wells, Tuscaloosa High School classes '55 and '56, employees and retirees of Alabama Gas Corporation, employees and retirees of Enterprise Rent-A-Car, friends and neighbors of Southwood, Dr. Brian Wilhite, Dr. Art Otero, nurses and staff of DCH Regional Medical Center 6th Floor, Luke Standeffer and staff of Northport Medical Center and Rehab, and the staff of Aspire Physical Recovery.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Chris Killian and wonderful caregivers, April Jaynes, Rosiland Chambers and Ebony Robbins with Seniors Preferred Homecare.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
