Clyde Gladden

Clyde Luther Gladden, age 75, of Coker, Alabama passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 22, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home at 2 PM with Bro. Mike Griffin and Pastor Scott Garvin officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Gardens. Visitation will begin at 1PM.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Buddy Gladden and Virginia Gladden; stepmom, Ann Gladden; sisters, Diane Looney and Deborah Gladden; brother, Anthony Gladden.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Gladden; daughters, Sontina Brewer (Clint), Cindi Fortson (Ken) and Telesa Morrison; sons, Troy Gladden and John Walker (Mary); grandchildren, Hali Harbin, Charli Rose Gladden, Cameron Fortson (Rebecca), Megan Hill (Christian), Andrew Fortson, Aiden Woods, Dustin Dent, Cody Dent, Tyler Walker (Kaila) and Bradley Walker; great grandchildren, Emery Ann Harbin, Meladee Dent, Piper Dent, David Ray Dent, Tinsley Dent, Hayden Walker, Raelyn Walker, Rylan Fortson and Oliver Fortson. He leaves behind his dearly beloved fur babies Dolly, Maggie and Emmy and all those that have already gone.

Clyde Luther Gladden was born on December 22, 1948 in Placerville, California. He completed the 12th grade in school and went to a trade school and learned cabinet milling. His first job was in 1965 as a carpenter. He spent 2 years in the US Navy with a tour of Vietnam and 8 years in the Navy Reserve. He worked for BF Goodrich manufacturing rubber tires for 33 1/2 years, he rose to the position of shift foreman. On June 4, 1994, Clyde married Brenda Kay Talley Walker.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Hill, Clint Brewer, Ken Fortson, Andrew Fortson, Cameron Fortson, John Walker, Bradley Walker and Cody Dent.

Honorary pallbearers are Southern Care Beacon Hospice and Coker Voluntary Fire Dept.
