Doris Pate Hutt

Doris Pate Hutt, age 83, of Northport, died December 1, 2015, at Glen Haven Nursing Home. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 2015, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with James Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 2, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Jefferson Pate and mother, Mary Irene Pate Caldwell.Survivors include her son, Stephen D. Pate; sisters, Ruth Smith, Roberta Moses, Lois Banks, Alice McJenkins, Ruby Parham and Lou Holt; brother, Clifford Pate; and granddaughter, Anniston Rose Gibson-Pate.Doris Hutt was born in Gordo in 1932. She moved to Tuscaloosa and worked at Bryce Hospital for over 20 years until her retirement. Doris loved her son, Stephen, and cherished every moment with him. She was blessed with a granddaughter, Anniston, who always brought a smile to her face. She always loved visiting with friends and family. Most importantly, she was faithful to her Lord, even in trying circumstance, and is in his presence today. Pallbearers will be Brian McGraw, Gary Yeager, Scott Banks, Larry McJenkins, Pat Holt and Andrew Taylor. Honorary pallbearers are Glen Haven Nursing Home staff.
