

A visitation for Earnest will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405 with the funeral service following. A committal service will take place, at Memory Hill Gardens
Preceded In Death: his parents, Lewis F. Brown, Sr. and Frances Brown, his Oldest Sister Paula Jones (Leon), and only brother, Lewis F. Brown, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 ½ years, Lynda Annette (Ann) Brown, his sisters Janice Cook (Phil) of Menifee, Ca, Dorothy Hawthorne of Cottondale, Al, And Sharon Wills (Bill) of Snellville, Ga., many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Earnest was born November 3, 1940, in Gordo, Alabama, and was the first-born son to Lewis and Frances. As a child, he attended Ebenezer Baptist Church until the age of 13 when the Brown family relocated to Northport. Earnest, along with his family began attending Rice’s Valley Baptist Church where he remained a member. He was saved at the age of 19 and baptized at the age of 20 by Reverend Jimmy Hughes.
Earnest graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School in 1961 and shortly after joined the Army where he proudly served for just over two years. After his military service ended, he gained employment at the Paper Mill where he worked until it closed. He then worked at Sabel Steel where he remained a faithful employee until his retirement.
Earnest had many interests and hobbies. He and his wife Ann loved watching Alabama football games together on Saturdays and Sundays were usually spent watching NASCAR races. He also enjoyed handloading and welding and especially returning to his family’s land in Gordo to enjoy the outdoors. He was a man of few words but a man of many great deeds, and he will be missed by us all.
