
Eleanor McCracken passed away peacefully at Hospice of West Alabama on January 3, 2017 surrounded by her family. The funeral service will be at Memory Chapel at 3 pm Thursday, January 5th. Visitation is one hour before service. She lived in Tuscaloosa all of her life and graduated from Tuscaloosa High School in 1950. She attended Judson College and The University of Alabama. She was married to Malcolm "Mac" McCracken for over 50 years and raised two children, Mike McCracken (Jennifer), Margie Christian (Ken) and her niece Andrea Huxford. She follows home her parents, Jack and Vera Gibson and two sisters, Vivian Turner and Barbara Huxford. She is survived by her Brother, Andrew Jackson Gibson II (Mary Lynn) of Fayetteville Arkansas.Eleanor was a wonderful mother, sister, wife, friend and talented artist. She loved oil painting and produced many beautiful works. In the last 7 years Wednesday lunches with her Sisters-In-Laws, Ora Ellen McCracken, Juanelle McCracken and nieces Ruth Collier and Jackie Broxson were the highlight of her week. She was a member of the First Baptist Church for over 60 years and loved the Second Hand Rose group who brought her fresh flowers every Monday with a Sunday School Lesson.
