She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Overstreet; father, Cleveland Archie; mother, Doshie Mae Archie; granddaughter, Anna Calhoun; great granddaughter, Harper Provenza; cousin/closest friend, Sheryl Keene McKenzie
She is survived by her daughters; Carmia Alexander, Donna McNatt, Jennifer Duckworth (David), Valinda Avery, Lisa Turner (David), & Mary Roble; niece whom she raised as a daughter, Diane Board; grandson whom she raised as a son, Jay Williams; brother, Bill Archie (Rose); her many grandchildren and their spouses; her 9 great grandchildren.
Virginia was born in the Holt area but later moved to Northport with her husband to raise her family. She ran her own house cleaning service for many of years where she got to meet so many wonderful families. She had a passion for birds. Over her lifetime she raised various types of different ones. To know Virginia was a pleasure to all. She never met a stranger. Her family and friends came above all. Watching all her grandchildren and great children grow up was the highlight of her life.
In her final days here on Earth, she was in the wonderful care of Hospice of West Alabama
For her wishes, the family will hold a private gathering to honor her life.
