MONTGOMERY - Fred Jackson "Jack" Herndon, Sr., a resident of Montgomery, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018, at the age of 83, surrounded by his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram and Olive Herndon; a sister, Betty Clyde Herndon; and brother, Joe Faison Herndon.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie N. Herndon; sons, Fred J. "Jay" Herndon, Jr. (Nancy), Steven K. Herndon (Helen), and Charles R. "Chuck" Herndon (Kent); two sisters, JoAnn Stuckey and Jessica Stevens; brother, Mike Herndon; and 13 grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. and services will be at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Ken Lee. Burial will follow at Mesopotamia Cemetery, Eutaw, Alabama with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.
Also, a memorial service will be held at Lakeview Baptist Church, 9225 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, Alabama on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at 1:00 p.m.
